Walking and lunch by tram in Amsterdam
Leave the city behind at your own pace. Get off for a walk through the Amsterdamse Bos, have lunch by the water or on the forest edge, and return by heritage tram later.
Your route
Choose a walk that suits you
This example starts in the morning. Leave some flexibility in your plans: the historic journey is part of the day, not just a transfer.
Historic shuttle bus
Travel from Haarlemmermeerstation to Zuiderhof (Jollenpad), then change to Line 30.
Get off for the forest
Koenenkade is a good choice for a longer walk. Van Nijenrodeweg is more convenient for the Boswinkel, Fun Forest and places to eat on the forest edge.
A walk and lunch
Combine a short green route with De Veranda, De Bosbaan or Boerderij Meerzicht. Choose one place and leave plenty of time for your return journey.
Return to the sound of tram bells
Walk back to a Line 30 stop and return to Haarlemmermeerstation via Zuiderhof and the shuttle bus.
A break along the way
Three places for coffee or lunch
These places are near the Van Nijenrodeweg and Koenenkade stops or within the Amsterdamse Bos itself. Choose one to keep your day relaxed.
De Veranda
A brasserie by the main entrance to the Amsterdamse Bos, ideal for coffee, lunch or a more leisurely break.
Amstelveenseweg 764, Amsterdam
De Bosbaan
A waterside restaurant in the Amsterdamse Bos. A pleasant stop during a walk along the Bosbaan rowing lake.
Bosbaan 4, Amstelveen
Boerderij Meerzicht
A historic farm with pancakes, a terrace and a playground. Especially appealing if you would like the walk itself to be part of your lunch break.
Koenenkade 56, Amsterdam
